Oliver Coss was inducted and installed as the Second Rector of Northampton on 7th September 2016.
Born to a military family while on deployment in Germany, he spent much of his childhood in East Anglia and Gibraltar before
settling in Lincolnshire. In 2000 he began as an undergraduate at the University of Hull reading Internet Computing,
interning at Sun Microsystems in Manchester for a year. Sponsored for ordination in York Diocese, he was formed at the
College of the Resurrection Mirfield where he read for a bachelor's degree and subsequent master's degree in Theology and
Pastoral Studies. He served his title after ordination at St Mary the Virgin in Cottingham, on the outskirts of Hull,
before becoming Vicar of Small Heath in the eastern inner-urbis of the Diocese of Birmingham.
Since appointment in Northampton, he has also served as Country Padre to Northamptonshire Royal British Legion, is a chaplain
to the Army Cadet Force, and writes a bi-weekly column in the
Northampton Chronicle & Echo. Fr Oliver was appointed Rural
Dean of Greater Northampton in 2021 and is a trustee of Northampton Interfaith Forum, as well as other charitable causes.
Fr Oliver is married to Eleanor, and they have two daughters.
